Make your own Playdough and Finger Paint
PLAYDOUGH
2 cups of flour
1 cup of salt
1 cup of hot water
2 tablespoons cooking oil
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
Food coloring
Mix well. Knead until smooth. This dough may be kept in a plastic bag or covered container and used again. If it gets sticky, more flour may be added.
ORNAMENT CLAY
1 cup cornstarch
2 cups baking soda
1 1/4 cups of water
Mix ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened. Stir constantly! When thick and cool, remove from pan and knead dough. Shape however you wish. If used for ornaments, poke a hole through while the dough is moist, so it can be hung after it is dry. Allow to harden. It may take several days to dry. It can be painted when dry.
